Peter Max. Ronald Reagan (1989) Orginal Acrylic on Canvas. (born 1937) Peter Finkelstein Max is one of the most famous of all living artist's, Peter Max is also a pop culture icon because of his bold colors, uplifting images and an uncommon artistic diversity have touched almost every phase of American culture and has inspired many generations. He has painted for six U.S. Presidents and his art is on display in Presidential Libraries and in U.S. Embassies, he has painted the Statue of Liberty annually since America's Bicentennial and in 2000 a collage of his Liberties adorned over 145 million Verizon phone books. He has been the official artist of the Olympics, 5 Super Bowls, World Cup USA, The World Series, The U.S. Open, The Indy 500, The NYC Marathon and The Kentucky Derby.
Goldberg Auctions is pleased to have two original works by Peter Max in this auction. Please be sure to see the "Gorbachev". Here, one of his spectacular original "Ronald Reagan" acrylic on silkscreen on canvas created in 1989, at the end of Reagan's presidential term. It is a large, bold and exceptionally appealing piece. 30 x 24" framed in white lacquer to 44 x 38" (some light staining to linen within frame). Painting is in excellent condition. Know the white and red flecks on right shoulder of sport coat are intentional details by the artist. Estimated Value $5,000 - UP
