Vincent Van Gogh. IRISES. Original oil on canvas reproduction of surprising quality. Goldberg Auctions has made an exception in the sale of this reproduction as it came from a Beverly Hills art gallery in the 1980s-90s that sold very fine original reproductions of masterworks. The Getty Museum acquired IRISES in 1990 in a private treaty sale which proved quite newsworthy given the circumstance of the original sale of the painting only two years prior. No doubt this fueled interest in creating a fine reproduction. Oil on canvas measures 30 x 40" and very nicely framed in gilt wood to 37 x 47". Goldberg Auctions is pleased to offer this work at considerably less than the estimated 70 million the other IRISES was paid for by The Getty.
