Stan Goldberg, Celebrated Comic Book Artist for "Archie" Marvel and DC & Chic Young "Blondie". Chic Young (1901-1973) created one of the most widely read comic strips of the 20th Century, "Blondie" at one point far exceeding 50 million readers. The strip spawned a series of 28 films from Columbia Pictures between 1938 and 1950. Chic Young was awarded the National Cartoonist Society's Reuben Award in 1948. Offered is a very impressive hand inked panel by Chic Young dated 5/6/57 of the Bumstead household including Dagwood, Blondie, Alexander, Cookie, Daisy and her puppies. Inscribed and signed in Young's fastidious penmanship, panel measures 5 x 16" framed and matted to 9 x 10". Stan Goldberg (1932-2014) enjoyed a long career as a comic book artist working for DC and Marvel Comics. But he is best known for his Archie comics. Offered are three hand illustrated character portraits in pencil and signed in ink by Stan Goldberg. Included are portraits of Archie, Dagwood and a double portrait of Betty and Veronica.
