Lot 50

1819 N-5 R3 NGC graded AU58. Glossy chocolate and olive brown with underlying frosty lighter brown and tan in some of the protected areas and peeps of faded mint red remaining visible on the obverse. A very attractive cent, especially the obverse, with just a few trivial contact marks including a very light vertical tick off the chin and an equally light one in the field off the brow lock. Nicely struck, particularly the obverse thanks to the newer die used for that side. E-MDS. The right top of the first T in STATES is softly struck due to a shallow clog in the die at that spot. Our grade is EF45+, close to AU50. A very nice example of a variety that is unknown in true mint state by EAC standards. Estimate Value $2,000 - UP
Ex J. O. Parsons-Manuel Ahumada-Chris McCawley 11/14/2015-The Westwood Collection.
