1816 N-4 R2 AU50. Choice glossy chocolate and steel brown delicately mottled with some slightly lighter brown toning on the obverse. Underlying flowline luster covers the fields and protected areas on both sides and the eye appeal of this cent is outstanding. The only mark is a tiny scratch under ST in STATES. M-LDS. The small dash between the C and A in AMERICA is weak but still visible and the edge at star 6 is partially reeded (a curious feature seen on several die varieties of 1816 & 1817 cents).
