Lot 37

1818 N-3 R3 PCGS graded MS62 Brown, CAC Approved. Beautiful lustrous bluish steel and chocolate brown. The fields are hard and the eye appeal of this cent is outstanding. A reddish stain in the dentils over TES in STATES is the only notable mark. Very early die state (VEDS) with raised lumps in the field before the portrait and hints of reflectivity in the fields on both sides. The spike up from the tip of the coronet is sharp and the repunching on the base of the second A in AMERICA is clear. Our grade is AU55 thanks to a hint of friction on the highest points of the portrait. Noyes photo #38559. A very nice cent, and it comes with a great provenance. The attribution and Twin Leaf Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. Estimate Value $1,500 - UP
