1855 Wass, Molitor & Co. (San Francisco) $10 Gold. K-6, High Rarity 5. PCGS graded AU-53. This is one of the later production issues from the Territorial gold series. Struck in 1855 from an earlier unused obverse die of 1852, with the final digit of the date drilled out of the die and replaced with a "5" to reflect the current year. The reverse is always weakly struck. Clean surfaces and attractive for this elusive issue. Housed in a special PCGS holder with foil tag. Pop 9; 8 finer, 6 in 55, 2 in 58.
