Lot 125

1826/5 N-8 R2 Overdate 6 over 5 AU55. Lustrous light to medium brown. Satiny mint frost covers all but the highpoints and this piece offers excellent eye appeal. The only mark is a puff of dark olive brown toning (not carbon) off the upper right point of star 3. There are traces of dirt in some of the most-protected areas on the reverse but the eye appeal of this cent is excellent. MDS with crumbling in the upper notch of the N in ONE. The top of the 5 is still clearly visible under the top of the 6. A very nice example of this "Redbook" variety. Estimate Value $2,750 - UP
