Lot 1210

1843-D. Medium D. PCGS graded MS-61. Well struck exhibiting rich greenish-golden mint luster on both sides. The Medium D variety of 1843 is about five times more plentiful than the rare Small D variety. Hence most collectors obtain an example of this variety. Still a challenge to find in any Mint State grade, which makes this offering all the more compelling for the specialist. A mintage of 98,432. Pop 6; 8 finer with 3 in 62, 4 in 63 and 1 in 64. (PCGS # 8215) Estimate Value $5,000 - UP
