Lot 1206

1841-D. Small D. PCGS graded MS-61. Sharply struck and shimmers with rich golden-orange overtones. This is the scarcer variety for the year with the smaller mintmark. The surfaces are absolutely lovely, with rich orange luster, minimal signs of handling and a solid strike. Considering those reported in the PCGS Census, this example would be tied with as many as half a dozen as 7th best seen by PCGS. A memorable example of this scarce date. Only 29,392 minted. Pop 6; 6 finer, 3 in 63, 2 in 64, 1 in 65 (PCGS # 8204) Estimate Value $6,000 - UP

Realized $11,700
