1824 N-4 R2 PCGS graded AU55. Frosty dark steel and olive brown mottled with lighter brown and chocolate. A very sharp cent with underlying luster in the fields and protected areas on both sides. The only marks are a thin planchet void on the jaw, a couple tiny nicks on the end of the nose, and a few microscopic scratches at EN in CENT. EDS. The obverse has a few fine die cracks and the arc line between the second S in STATES and the O in OF is clear. Our grade is AU50 net EF45+. The attribution and Darby-Ellsworth provenance are noted on the PCGS label. Estimate Value $2,400 - UP
