Outstanding Collection of 8 Covers Each Signed by a Different X-15 Pilot. The X-15 was a hypersonic rocket-powered aircraft operated by the United States Air Force and NASA as part of the X-plane series of experimental aircraft. The men who flew them proved the best of the best. Offered is a collection of eight X-15 commemorative covers all postmarked from Edwards Air Force Base between 1961-1965 representing 8 of the 12 pilots. Included are: Robert White (1924-2010), William "Bill" Dana (1930-2014), William J."Pete" Knight (1929-2004), Robert Rushforth (1924-1993), Milt Thompson (1926-1993), Joe Walker (1921-1966), Forrest Peterson (1922-1990) and Joe Engle (1932 and the only surviving X-15 Pilot).
