First Atomic Bomb Test: Three Scarce Trinitite Fragments in Two Sealed Containers, With One Container in Shadow Box Presentation. Three pieces of original Trinitite from the world's first atomic bomb test are included in two double-sealed clear plastic containers (1½ x 1½ ¾"). On July 16, 1945 the first Atomic bomb was detonated at the Trinity site in the New Mexico desert. The blast generated a temperature of 10 million degrees Fahrenheit and the intense heat melted the desert sand into grey-green, glass-like substance which is now known as Trinitite. While it is no longer legal to acquire from the original site, small amounts collected prior to the restriction are legal to own. The sealed container with two samples of Trinitite is presented in a shadow box presentation. The single but larger specimen is presented in original sealed case. Dramatic artifacts from the beginning of the Atomic age. Both sealed samples convey with COA s by Edward Humphreys. Scarce. Estimate Value $250 - UP
