Rare, Original Aviation Medallions from the Early 20th Century. Rare, Original Early Aviation Medals -- A 1913 Military Aviation Medal, A 1922 Medal For Louis Peyret, and a 1928 Medal Honoring Dr. Hugo Eckener. A 1913 bronze aviation medal to Emile Harel for Military Aviation, presented by the Aéro-Club de France. A sole angel appears on the obverse with the inscription "À Emile Harel - Aviation Militaire 1913"; on the reverse, an angel points over the shoulder of a female figure with a globe at her feet; a zeppelin can be seen in the sky and a beacon. "Aéro-Club de France" is at top edge. Size: 33mm. Medal in original box.

A 1922 silver medal to Louis Peyret, designer of the Peyret Tandem or Peyret Alérion, a French single seat glider of tandem wing configuration.The medal features a zeppelin and a hot air balloon with "Aero-Club de Belgique. À M. Peyret 7/12/22" on one side; on the reverse is a scene by sculptor G. Devreese of a woman in flowing robes with a naked young man who reaches up to the sky where a small plane can be seen. The woman has a hand on the young man's shoulder, and a bird perches on her other outstretched hand. Size: 3½ x 1 7/8" (88 x 45mm). Medal in original box.

1928 Medal Honoring Dr. Hugo Eckener. On obverse "Graf Zeppelin Dr. Hugo Eckener 1898-1928." On reverse: Luftschiff LZ I27 Graf Zeppelin." 36mm diameter in .900 silver. In PCGS SP65 holder. Estimate Value $800 - UP
