Rare Airship Hindenburg, American Airlines Inc. Luggage Sticker Sandwiched Between Thick Lucite for Optimum Presentation. Rare Airship Hindenburg/American Airlines baggage sticker in mint condition. 5 x 4" original decal is from 1936 and features both the Hindenburg airship and and an American Airlines Douglas Sleeper Transport. American advertised "World-Wide Air Service" from 57 cities in the United States to destinations around the world, via American Airlines to Lakehurst, Hindenburg to Frankfurt, and connections on Deutsche Lufthansa, Imperial Airways, KLM, and Air France. This original and mint example is presented in a 4 x 6 x 1" lucite block. However block is split into two halves, 4 x 6 x ½" with the sticker centered and then halves screwed together, making for a superb presentation piece or paper weight. A must for collectors of early 20th Century aviation.
