Authentic Xiling Seal Art Society Exquisitely Carved Chinese Soapstone Chop with Documentation. Elegantly carved vintage Chinese wide red seal from the Xiling Seal Art Society in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, PRC. Soapstone seal (sometimes referred to as a chop) is carved on the sides to suggest outcroppings of rocks with elegantly carved silver pheasants at top, all polished to a dazzling gleam in creams, rusts, grays and browns. Original document inside box translates to Xiling Seal Art Society, Lai Weini, September 10th, 1979. We could not find a 20th century soapstone seal with the details this piece exhibits or with the elegance and appeal of the character stamp. In mint condition. 3 x 1½" and in original box.
