Group of Six Covers Signed by Crew Members of the Enola Gay and Bockscar & 2 George Caron Signed Photos. Three covers signed by Charles W. Sweeney, pilot of Bockscar, the Boeing B-29 that dropped a "Fat Man" nuclear weapon on Nagasaki, Japan, on Aug. 9, 1945; with cancellations from 1943, 1945, and 1991. One FDC honoring Einstein and cancelled 1966, signed by Enola Gay crew members Paul W. Tibbets, Tom Ferebee, George R. Caron, and Jacob Besser. These four, plus Theodore Van Kirk, signed a cover honoring aviation pioneer Samuel Langley, cancelled in 1988; and a FDC with "Emblem of Honor" honoring the men and women who served in World War II, cancelled in 1946, is signed by Charles W. Sweeney, Paul Tibbets, and one other, Stan R----? Also, six letters written to Enola Gay's tail gunner, George Caron in 1980-81, which include two signed color snapshots. Estimate Value $300 - UP
