Original U.S. WWII Waltham A-11 USAAF Wristwatch, Fully Functional ca. 1944. Genuine WW2 issued A-11 military watch manufactured in 1944 for pilots and navigators in the US Army Air Force (USAAF). It features a 16 jewel Waltham (made in Waltham Massachusetts) hand-winding and hacking movement for synchronization with other pilots Watch case is 30 mm and comes with a reproduction band. Watch has been tested and is running. Details on the back of the case as follows: Type A-11, Spec No.94-27834-B, Serial No. AF 44-51 642, Mfrs. part No 10616, Ord.Now-30-053AC-1320, WALTHAM. Case exhibits scattered scratches to chromium finish exposing brass case underneath, otherwise in overall excellent condition, most especially the crystal. The A-11 proved a significant piece of equipment during WWII and was worn by American pilots in virtually all air campaigns, as well some timepieces finding their way into the RAF, the RCAF and Soviet pilots.
