Collection of Judaica -- A Varied Lot of Items Signed From Many Different Fields. Group of items from a collection of Judaica acquired by the consignor over a period of 40 years. Items in this lot include letters, notes, or photos signed by a wide spectrum of people: scientists, economists, politicians, authors, actors and others. Includes Jonas Salk (FDC), Edward Teller (3 items), Elie Wiesel (initialed ANS on personal notepaper), Chaim Potok, Milton Friedman, Isaac Asimov, Henry Morgenthau, Jr., Dr. Christian Bernard, Walter Annenberg, Otto H. Kahn, Dianne Feinstein, David Dubinsky, Carl Levin, Calvin Klein, Moss Hart (a signed stamp), Fanny Hurst, Sam Levinson, Sophie Tucker, Jan Pearce, and Mollie Picon. Also, a group of some 20 letters from U.S. governors, a couple of senators (includes Daniel Moynihan TLS against selling planes to Egypt and Saudi Arabia), plus Admiral H.G. Rickover during the 1950s, many responding to invitations to Jewish events. NY Gov. Herbert Lehman, NY Sen. Jacob Javitts, and Conn. Gov. and Sen. Abe Ribicoff signed several items.
