Flown, Stitched, ASTP Patch on Beta Cloth from the Personal Collection of Donald "Deke" Slayton. From the personal property of Apollo Docking Module Pilot, Donald "Deke" Slayton (1924-1993) is this flown ASTP insignia patch. ASTP was the last manned US space mission until the first Space Shuttle flight in April 1981. ASTP was the first joint U.S.–Soviet space flight, as a symbol of the policy of détente that the two superpowers were pursuing at the time. Patch is screened on Beta cloth, stitched on all four outer edges and sealed in protective sleeve for display at the Kennedy Space Center. Comes with LOA.
