1840-O. No Drapery. NGC graded MS-65. Old time golden toning with deeper russet accents near the rims. The strike is fairly sharp save for a touch of softness on Liberty's head, as nearly always seen on this issue. The surfaces show incredible preservation. On this particular coin, the O mintmark is placed somwehat right of the R in QUAR, on many others the mintmark is located above AR of that word. Given how splendid this coin is, and its illustrious pedigree, we anticipate strong bidding when it crosses the auction block. Pop 2; 1 finer in 67 Star. Estimate Value $20,000 - UP
