1812 S-291 R2 Small Date VF25. Sharpness EF45 but cleaned and nicely retoned frosty medium steel brown and chocolate. There are a few small pits on both sides, and a pit at the dentils above the back of the head contains a speck of greenish verdigris. The only notable contact mark is a short scratch arcing across the first 1 in the date. M-LDS, Breen state III, with fine die cracks on the obverse. Removed from an NGC slab graded AU Details Improperly Cleaned (NGC label #4201211-011 included). Estimate Value $700 - UP
