Lot 801

1837. JR-4, Rarity 1. NGC graded MS-65+. Boldly struck with nice blue toning. This is a fairly early die state as the faint die crack well right of the 7 in the date is present, and the reverse diagnostics line up too for that variety. Final year of the Capped Bust design, with the Liberty Seated style on deck for later in 1837 when it was launched. Boldly struck on the eagle's feathers and shield, as well as on Liberty's curls. Super clean fields and devices, as expected for the gem grade level. Pop 1; 1 finer in 66 Star for the variety. Estimate Value $7,000 - 7,500

Realized $8,160
