Lot 78

1807 S-276 R1 Large Fraction PCGS graded MS63 Brown, CAC Approved. Frosty mix of chocolate, dark olive brown, and lighter brown tones. No spots or stains, but there are a few small contact marks. The notable marks are a shallow dig on the upper edge of the drapery near the hair and a few tiny scratches at AT in STATES and near the dentil tips following that second S. The small mark on the drapery is visible to the unaided eye; the others are not. Otherwise this cent has mint state eye appeal in spite of a hint of rub on the highest points of the devices. EDS, Breen state I, with fine die clashmarks on both sides and the reverse rotated 90 degrees CCW relative to the normal head-to-foot die orientation. Called AU50 net EF40 by Noyes, his photo #36285. Our grade is net EF45. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Pop 3; 2 finer at PCGS for the variety, 1 in 64 RB, 1 in 65 BN. Estimate Value $15,000 - UP
