1802 S-241 R1 PCGS graded MS64 Brown, CAC Approved. Beautiful lustrous medium brown and steel with traces of tan faded down from mint color in a few of the protected areas. Satiny mint frost covers this cent, even the highest points of the devices, and it offers outstanding eye appeal. No spots or stains, but there is a light scratch left of the first S in STATES and a barely visible hairline through the U in UNITED. Nicely struck E-MDS, Breen state I late, with die clashmarks but no cracks. The double fraction bar and misplaced second S in STATES are both clear to the unaided eye, and the Stemless Wreath feature is obvious. A very nice cent that has choice mint state eye appeal. Our grade is MS60 sharpness net AU55 for the small scratch. Bland also says AU55 and tied for CC#2 in his census. A superior example of this "Redbook" variety. The attribution and "No Stems" feature are noted on the PCGS label. Pop 1; the finest example graded both services for the variety. Estimate Value $30,000 - UP
