1797 S-128 R3 M over E in AMERICA VF25. Sharpness EF40 but covered with extremely faint granularity under frosty dark chocolate brown and steel toning. No verdigris but there are tiny marks scattered over both sides including a shallow planchet flake in the field left of the lowest curl and a minor rim bruise over the second A in AMERICA. M-LDS, Breen state VIII, with die cracks on the obverse and clashmarks on both sides. The date and legends are bold and the M over E error is obvious to the unaided eye. Noyes photo #59952. Removed from a PCI slab graded AU50 (PCI label #4955410014 included, and it shows the attribution). Estimate Value $1,250 - UP
