1794 S-67 R3 VF20. Sharpness VF35 but covered with fine roughness under attractive glossy chocolate brown toning. The highpoints are a lighter shade of brown and this cent has excellent eye appeal in spite of the imperfect surfaces. MDS, Breen state II, with die clashmarks. The edge is marked in yellow ink with "H" and "38" suggesting the coin may have belonged to the famous numismatist William Wallace Hays and the variety is Maris-38. Noyes photo #56540. Removed from an NCS slab graded AU Details Corroded (NCS label #5066714-001 included, and it shows the attribution and Rasmussen provenance). Estimate Value $1,500 - UP
