1831 Proof Original Breen 1-A Rarity 7- PCGS graded Proof-60 Brown. Glossy light olive and medium brown with overtones of sea-green on the reverse. Lightly cleaned long ago showing microscopic hairlines in the fields on both sides. There are a few microscopic specks of dirt in protected areas; the only one visible to the unaided eye is a speck off the lower right point of star 6. A decent example of this very rare proof-only date in the half cent series. Our grade is Proof-55. Pop 1; 8 finer at PCGS. Estimate Value $50,000 - UP
