Great Britain. Penny, 1827. S.3823; KM-693. George IV. Obverse; Laureate portrait of king left, made from dies by William Wyon, taken from a bust by Sir Francis Chantrey. GEORGIUS IV DEI GRATIA, date 1827 below. Reverse; Britannia seated right with plain trident. BRITANNIAR: REX FID: DEF: A glossy mint state example of this, probably the rarest date of Pennies intended for circulation. Most of the original mint sheen intact, and a little mint red still evident in the lettering. An exceptional specimen, and one of Britain's classic copper rarities. NGC graded MS-61 Brown. Estimate Value $8,000 - 9,000
