Lot 2128

China, Qing Dynasty. AE "Wan Shou Wu Jiang" Charm, ca. 1894 (326.9 g). "Da Ya" on the back. This large format charm was believed to be issued for the celebration of Empress Dowager Cixi's birthday. Its size and deeply engraved details exceed all other contemporary cast issues. Edge bumps, field smoothing and central hole filing visible, otherwise a nice Extremely Fine example.
This coin is possibly a later reproduction, probably made in the Republic period. The consignor purchased this piece from Japan years ago. Sold as is, no returns. Estimate Value $5,000 - UP
