1883. PCGS graded Proof 66 Deep Cameo. A brilliant proof coin with strong contrast. Only 61 struck, with about 25 to 30 examples estimated to have survived according to PCGS Pop Report.This is one of just four examples yet graded by PCGS to offer the most desirable Deep Cameo contrast, and the second best of the select group. It is important to note that PCGS has graded only a single example with the Cameo designation, and six pieces with the regular Proof format (two of which are lightly circulated!). That gives one the nuts and bolts of the rarity of this issue, again with perhaps just 25 to 30 of these Proofs are really known today, including a few that are impaired. For future pedigree tracing there is a minor speck to the right of the date, and what appears to be a tiny lintmark on Liberty's jaw near her ear lobe.
