Lot 1175

1810. Small Date, Tall 5. PCGS graded MS-63. Frosty and boldly struck. A simply lovely mint state example of this elusive type coin. The strike shows full curls on Liberty, and the eagle's wing feathers are all fully defined as well. Excellent surfaces with virtually no signs of distracting marks or handling issues. Just graded for the first time, and this is one of the finer examples now certified from the original mintage. Pop 12; 7 finer, 5 in 64, 2 in 65. (PCGS # 8106) Estimate Value $15,000 - 16,000
Ex Dr. Carl Ermshar, Jr. Collection; Ex. Superior June 1978 Auction, Lot 1749.

Realized $11,100
