1869 Pattern Half Dollar. Copper, plain edge. Judd-745. Pollock-826. Low Rarity 7. NGC graded Proof 64 Brown. Beautiful sunset iridescent toning. The obverse has the Standard Silver bust with Liberty facing right and wearing a cap with two stars. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA above and IN GOD WE TRUST below on a raised ribbon. The reverse shows an open laurel and oak wreath tied at the bottom, within which is a large 50 and CENTS below, around the wreath is STANDARD SILVER and date below. A gorgeous coin for the bold devices and elegant toning. Downright rare too. Pop 1; 4 finer, 2 in 65, 1 in 66, 1 in 66 Star. (PCGS # 60973) Estimate Value $3,000 - UP
