Lot 742

1885-S Liberty Seated Dime. PCGS graded MS-63. One of the key dates of the Liberty Seated series, the reported mintage was just 43,690. With modern computers and tallying instruments, PCGS has noted just 31 have been graded of this date, 31 coins in all. How many were uncirculated? So far, just 5, one in each of the following grades: MS-61; MS-62; MS-63 (this coin); MS-64, MS-65 and MS-66. This would certainly make a nice grading set, if you could afford to round up all the coins! Sharply struck by the dies, and we note good luster and clean surfaces throughout. An important coin for the specialist, and one that will certainly see considerable, and well deserved, attention.
Estimated Value $5,000 - 6,000.

Realized $4,888
