Lot 2274

1907 $20 St. Gaudens. High relief, Roman numerals, wire rim. NGC graded MS-63 Pittman. Boldly struck and retaining the abundant mint freshness that makes these coins so popular. We note that the wire rim is located on the lower left of the obverse, and upper left of the reverse. Minor handling marks and hairlines account for the grade. This one has a great pedigree, which includes "Pittman" on the NGC insert.
Estimated Value $7,000 - 9,000.
From David Akers Numismatics, Inc. John J. Pittman Sale, October, 1997, Lot 1188, previously purchased from Mr. Gullian for $100 in 1947.
