Lot 2236
1873-CC $20 Liberty. NGC graded AU-58. One of 45 so graded by NGC, with just 12 graded higher by that service. Flashy luster and fairly clean surfaces for the grade. We note some hairlines, but no other problems worth describing. Although 22,410 were struck, this is a very rare date in higher grades, especially above EF, hence a double eagle specialist will soon find this date to be quite a challenge. Here is a very nice one indeed, and we expect to see spirited bidding on this one.
