Valentinian III, 425-455 AD. Gold Solidus (4.4 g), Ravenna mint, struck c. 430-445 AD. Diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Valentinian right. Reverse: Emperor in military attire standing frontal, holding long cross and Victory atop globe, foot human-headed serpent below. RIC 2010; DOCLR 841. Nicely centered, but minor striking weakness near top edge. Ample luster remains. Near Extremely Fine.
