Arcadius, 383-408 AD. Gold Solidus (4.3 g), Constantinople mint, struck 397-402 AD. Helmeted, cuirassed bust of Arcadius three-quarters facing, holding spear and shield. Reverse: Constantinopolis enthroned frontal, head right, holding Victory atop globe. RIC 7; DOCLR 207ff. Good strike, with portrait of better style, plus residual luster. Usual slight graffiti front and back. Very Fine, the obverse a bit better.
