Pupienus, 238 AD. Lot of Two Coins, an AR Antoninianus and an AE Sestertius, struck 238 AD. Antoninianus: Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Iunctio Dextrarum; RSC 3; RIC 10b. The Sestertius: Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Pax enthroned left, holding branch; RIC 22. The silver with excellent old collection toning, and fine style portrait. The bronze with variegated green, brown, and coppery patina; the portrait sharply struck and choice. The Antoninianus a Choice Very Fine; the Sestertius Near Very Fine/Fine.
