Galba, 68-69 AD. AR Denarius, Rome mint, struck 68-69 AD. An interesting coin in Galba's series, and scarce. Laureate head right, drapery at back and left shoulder. Reverse: Draped female figure standing left, holding patera over lit garland-draped altar; rudder held in other hand, right foot resting on gobe. RIC 214. Sharp and boldly struck portrait of unsual style, along with very pretty reverse. Coin with appealing light gray and iridescent patina. Very Fine, the obverse better.
