Julius Caesar, d.44 BC. AR Denarius, January - February 44 BC. Struck under L. A. Buca. Laureate head of Caesar right. Reverse: Venus standing left, holding Victory and scepter. Craw. 102. Lightly toned, intense gunmetal blue at edges. Reverse rather tight on the planchet, yet lacking many of the striking problems associated with these issues. A pleasing, solid specimen. Very Fine.
