1830. NGC graded Mint Error EF-45, First Strike Off Center. Wow, is this an exciting coin. The first strike was off center by about 40 percent, with the reverse side up, STATES OF clearly shows before Liberty's face into her chest, and her chin shows the Motto LURI of PLURIBUS quite sharp. The eagle's wing is noted in the right obverse field. On the reverse there is a clear star behind the eagle's head from the original obverse strike. Other obverse design elements are also present. While there are a few other double struck Capped Bust dimes known, there probably are precious few that are in such high grade with with such dramtic doubling still present. A nicely toned interesting mint error coin. Expect a well deserved runaway price when this coin crosses the block! Estimate Value $500 - UP
