1801. NGC graded AU-55. Mostly untoned in silver gray with a trace of russet gold, with lots of fine details. A tough date to find at all, especially so this well preserved. This is an early die state and one of impressive quality. These tiny half dimes are so rare in high grades, and finding one without damage is a formidable task for the collector. This nearly mint state coin is destined for a specialist who appreciates its many charms and recognizes what a special opportunity this represents. Only 27,760 struck. Pop 2; 5 finer at NGC.
