1839/6 N-1 R3+ Overdate 9 over 6 (or Inverted 9) PCGS graded VF25. Glossy medium brown and light chocolate with a puff of reddish chocolate brown toning at star 13 and another area of darker olive brown toning between stars 6 & 7. The surfaces are smooth and there are only minor contact marks. These include a couple very light scratches around star 12 and a small rim dent right of the second S in STATES. E-MDS with a light die crack from the dentils between stars 3 & 4 that reaches into the field near the nose but stops short of it. Nicely struck with excellent eye appeal. The overdate feature is obvious to the unaided eye. Our grade is F15. The attribution and Neiswinter provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 5; 14 finer for the variety. Estimate Value $2,500 - UP
