Lot 80

1817 N-16 R1 15-Star Obverse PCGS graded MS63 Brown. Lustrous bluish steel and light chocolate brown with subtle overtones of light bluish steel. Peeps of faded mint red remain visible in some of the protected areas on both sides and the eye appeal of this cent is excellent. No spots or stains, and the only notable mark is a faint hairline in the field off the bust. LDS. The rim cud over AM is clear and the left side of the obverse is softly struck while the stars on the right side show their radial lines. The reverse is rotated 50 degrees CCW relative to the normal head-to-foot die orientation. Our grade is MS60. A very nice example of this popular "Redbook" variety. PCGS population 2; 3 finer for the variety, 1 in 64BN, 1 in 64RB, 1 in 65BN. Estimate Value $20,000 - UP
