Lot 483

1849 N-1 R4- AU55. Frosty medium brown and light chocolate. Satiny luster shows in the protected areas on both sides and this cent has excellent eye appeal. No spots or stains, only a few very light contact marks. The notable marks are some faint hairline scratches in the field right of star 3. Sharply struck with just a hint of friction on the highest points of the devices. Scarce LDS, die state e. The die line through the O in OF has been lapped off the die and the fields on the obverse are now slightly reflective. A narrow rim cud has formed over the M in AMERICA, and it is well defined on this piece. A neat die state. Tied for CC#6 of the variety but CC#2 of the late die state in the Grellman census. Removed from a PCGS slab graded MS61BN (PCGS label #1886.61/32913066 included). Estimate Value $500 - UP
