Lot 480

1848 N-30 R5 NGC graded AU58. Frosty medium brown and light olive. The only notable marks are a small carbon spot in the field close before the middle of the nose and a light diagonal nick between stars 9 & 10. Microscopic specks of crud can be found with a strong glass and it appears this cent has never been brushed. EDS, die state a, with fine die lines at AME and no rim cud break on the obverse. A new discovery of this rare die variety. Our grade is EF45, CC#3 for the variety in the Grellman census. Estimate Value $1,000 - UP
