1794 C-8 R5 VG10. Sharpness VF30 but the planchet is covered with fine granularity on all but the highpoints of the devices which are smooth. The roughness is a bit more advanced at NT in CENT but there is no verdigris on either side. The only notable marks are a tiny rim bruise over the E in LIBERTY and an even smaller one over the C in AMERICA. Dark olive brown and steel. LDS, Manley state 2.0, with a clear radial die crack from the rim through the second T in STATES to the wreath below. Struck with the reverse rotated 20 degrees CCW from the normal head-to-foot die orientation. The date is strong and the legends are clear. Weight 102.0 grains. Estimate Value $1,000 - UP
