Lot 392

1851 N-35 R5 PCGS graded XF45. Attractive glossy medium brown and light chocolate. The surfaces are smooth and show only trivial contact marks. A thin diagonal nick at the top of the ear may help identify this piece. Possibly lightly cleaned long ago but the toning has a very natural look now. E-MDS, die state a, with a narrow rim cud break over NIT in UNITED. Our grade is VF25+, tied for CC#12 in the Grellman census. An attractive example of this tough variety, and it comes with a nice provenance. The attribution and Borcherdt-Brown-Ellsworth provenance are noted on the PCGS label. Estimate Value $300 - UP
