1823 Restrike PCGS graded MS63 Brown. Glossy light to medium brown with a couple tiny peeps of faded red in protected areas of the obverse. A small spot of darker olive brown toning right of star 9 and another under IC in AMERICA are the only notable marks. E-MDS with a bisecting die crack across the obverse from the rim under star 5 to the rim at star 12. A weaker crack extends down from the dentils between stars 7 & 8 into the field above the head, but this crack never strengthens. The reverse is uncracked and the fields are slightly reflective on both sides. Struck outside the US Mint for Mr. Mickley sometime between 1863 and 1879. Noyes photo #39635. Weight 161.8 grains.
